Answer
Oh that dress is gorgeous. I think a dress like that in black will be quite hard to find. I actually like the colour it is in currently because the colour is dark yet light enough to see the nice details of the dress.
Good luck finding it in black but if you don't and you don't mind the colour, you should totally get it!

eggplant purple and lime green wedding?

Ashtray

Hi my fiance and i finally set a date we are getting married march 26 2011 it will be our 4 yr ann. My fave color is purple and his is all shades of green so i figured why not use those colors. just having a hard time finding ways to pull it together. a friend told me to take green apples or limes and slice them up and put them in a vase with purple flowers? Having a hard time finding a pic with an idea of that.. anyways do you think these colors will go good or clash and what would be a good idea to pull it all together we are having and out door wedding at river walk park by the water its beautiful! we are realeasing butterflys when the ceremony is over...

Just saw a beautiful eggplant color cake on http://weddingchannel.com but you have to sign in and I didn't want to take the time to do, it is free. Can go on there and they have colors of cakes listed by colors, but again you have to sign in to see a larger picture of the cakes.

I think with these two dominant colors I would use creamor a very light muted yellow. As for the green apples, use a cylinder about two feet or one and one half feet about 8-12 inches in diameter with green granny smith apples whole in bottom.
you will know them when you see them, they are a lighteish green, not quite lime. Put
four eight ft. tables put together to form an x. Draw it out. There is a square in the center, here you put a decorated table, tulle purple and llilac or violet, I like to use tuelle in a thick long piece and entertwine with lilac or lighter color and make arrangement look like it is sittingin a cloud, can raise it some more and cover with lace or tulle. At top of cylinder, let florist make with different shades of purple, lavender, lime and a little cream. Dynamic.

Very beautiful and big, but bride didn't use any other decorations, can't remember there might have been something small on tables, but with a centerpiece like that you don't need anything else. Food was on four tables and gave guests plenty of room to walk around.

As for colors, there are lime and all sorts of green flowers and what they call lemon grass, tiny can can make curly, love tiny buttons they call, some kind of mum, I think. Have bridesmaids in purple dresses with a lime sash and have bouquets shades of purple with lots of lime green. Think there is a hydrangea not opened that is green and others. Go to florist and start looking at colors or go to paint store and get little paintstrips,do not tell them what for, they might get mad. Say just looking. Also buy a box of 64 crayola crayons and a skecth pad and start a color board, Put pictures of your colors, pieces for ribbon and fabric. Can put on poster paper, do not have to buy a special board. Let groom and groomsmen wear lime or light purple vests with limebouts. Have your bouquet purple, lavender, and with touches of lime.

Go online and just put in purple and lime dresses and cakes and you will come up with a lots of ideas, bouquets too. Hope this helps. Can picture it in my mind, think I would stay with a deep cream and not do muted yellow. Lots of color going on so need something to tone it down. Just go on wedding channel for lots of stuff and the knot.com and I will list a site for a gazillion songs for every part of the wedding from start to end of reception and also a checklist for 12 months up until date of wedding. As soon as you get approx. no. of guests, go ahead and book your venue, church etc. as people book up to a year in advance. Worked at a florist for a year did my apprenticeship, and know if money is a factor, do not let florist talk you into a bunch of expensive flowers you don't need. Now carnations are making a big comebeack, they come in so many shades of purple, violet, lavenders, and pinks, fuschias, magenta. Look at these. Cheaper, but one of my favorite flowers.
