What color dress should I wear to my son's wedding?

The bridal party will be wearing canary yellow, the groom will be wearing a kelly green kilt with navy and yellow plaid, the mother of the bride is wearing green. I have dark auburn hair and look awful in yellow or green.

Oh my gosh dont wear white...only the bride is supposed to wear the white to the wedding you might upset her by also wearing white. And never wear black to a wedding cause that is supposed to mean you dont support the wedding or morning for the loss of your son being married away. Navy seems like it would go will with the other colors you said others were wearing to the wedding.

I don't want to overstep my bounds as step-mom. The bridesmaids dresses are burnt orange. The mother of the bride is wearing a raisin colored long formal gown. The groom's mother is wearing a green formal gown. I'm looking for a chocolate colored dress. Is it proper for the step-mom to also wear a long formal gown or should I opt for tea length?

If the wedding is a formal occasion, than a floor length dress is perfectly acceptable. If you're unsure, just check with your stepdaughter and see what she thinks. Just tell her that you weren't sure whether you should be looking for floor or tea length and she'll steer you in the right direction.
