what lipstick color from which brand is suitable for night party?

thebluesky

my dress is dark red and my skin is light..

Answer
Your lip color really depends on the look that YOU want and also on the texture, that is, the way it feels on your lips. Also consider what and how much you will be eating, drinking, and kissing. As for the color, I suggest red. I often wear Certainly Red by Revlon. Be sure to line your lips first, then apply lipstick. I always prefer to match my lips, fingernails, and toenails, so I use their signature nail color Revlon Red. There are lots of similar colors out there, but the texture of one brand of lipstick, lipgloss, or other lip product (without a common name) may vary considerably. I have long since discovered that some types of lipgloss can dissolve lipstick after a half hour and make it bleed into my facial lines. It is OK to pile on the lipgloss over lipstick for a quick photo session, but experiment at home first to see what will stand up to your habits. I have light skin as well; red does not overpower it.

Another product that I have tried is called Lip Ink. It is a liquid that comes in a vial, and it is applied with a sponge-tip wand. You apply 3 coats, let it dry, and then put on their liquid lipgloss. It is supposed to be swear-proof (yes), drink-proof (yes), dinner-proof (partially), and kiss-proof (ooops, not the way I kiss, but it would probably stand up to casual greeting type kisses). I have used Lip Ink in Red. It is expensive and feels OK for a while, but it eventually flakes off rather than evaporates or oozes off. For me, it is a worthwhile experiment, and I may try other Lip Ink colors, but I prefer the FEEL of traditional lipstick.

Red is more than a night color. The color red does carry an erotic message that is desirable in a nightclub, party, or bedroom setting, but red is also the color of authority and tradition. As a color of authority, red is perfect for business regardless of whether you are buyer, seller, worker, or boss, and it is appropriate for the courtroom and classroom. As a color of tradition, red is also suitable for church, the fine arts, high society, family gatherings, and it never truly goes out of style. Wear red with confidence day or night to all venues worthy of your presence, and all eyes will be on you.

Also consider repairs. Besides retouching lip liner and lipstick, my makeup around my mouth is often destroyed by some oily foods or messy kissing. At home, I first use liquid foundation and loose powder, but for touch-ups, I carry a compact with a semi-solid foundation applied with a sponge and a pressed powder compact applied with a powder brush. Then I redo my lips. It takes time, but I have a public image to uphold, and all my lovers like my red lips.

can i wear flats with this dress?

aDri

it looks pretty close to this. If i can what color. I'm wearing silver jewelry. I have black hair, dark brown eyes and tan skin if that helps. Thanks!!

Answer
Yes, but it will dress it down a bit. if you wear it with heels it will make it more suitable for evening or party attire, flats will make it more casual- casual party, informal dinner date, etc.

i suggest simple black flats, or any plainly decorated colored flat. if you have a silver tone flat it would be cute also. Target has some cute silver and black zebra flats that might work, it was the first thing i thought of when i saw the picture!

what about some cute dressy-ish sandals?

October Wedding in San Antonio, Texas?

Carlymw7

My boyfriend and I are going to a wedding on October 6th. He is one of the groomsmen wearing a black tux and orange vest, and the bridesmaids are wearing brown. I'm thinking about wearing a halter dress that hits mid calf. The color is David's Bridals oasis, which is kind of a calipso color with black undertones. Because it is the first weekend of october I'm planning on wearing it with black heals and a black cashmire wrap.

What do you think??

My only concern is that I wore it to his sister's wedding this past March, and his whole family is coming to the wedding as well.

Answer
Wear the dress if that's all you have. Change up the accessories you wore with it the last time. Wear different colors which will match the dress instead of black.

Ideas for an inexpensive wedding in San Antonio?

Annie

I am the Maid of Honor in my best friend's wedding happening in February 2009, I want to help her plan, but I dont know the first thing about what is needed, what to buy, etc. This weekend we are going to go to a few different places to look at bridesmaid's dresses, but Im not really sure where to go to find a great deal. There will be 4 of us total. Also, if anyone has some creative ideas about place settings and decorations that would be awesome as well. Her colors are going to be in the champagne spectrum.Thank you for all your help! =)

Answer
i'm all for fake flowers. i got mine from afloral.com

use bbcrafts.com for cheap ribbon. organza- wired and not

found garland and beading to use at 95% off.

depending on her ideas for centerpieces you can make crystal branches, how to at save-on-crafts.com
hang mirrored or sparkly discounted christmas ornaments from them to catch light.
or adhear flowers to the branches for a more springy feel- you can leave the crystals off and use ivy to swag from the branches

look at walmart and other stores that have fabric for clearance sales on sheer fabrics
i happened upon walmart having a half off all their by the yard things. i got oodles of sheer fabric for $.50 a yard.

join your local yahoo freecycle group. post what you are looking for every other week till your get all you need.

What would a $5000 wedding look like?

Prici

is it realistic?

Answer
it's totally do-able. ours is budgeted at 2-2500k and it's shaping up to be be-au-ti-ful!

here are my tips

here are my tips that i have passed on to many buget concious brides... hope you can use some of them.

first off- shop after holiday clearance sales at craft stores, michaels and ac moore, and places like walmart, target and kmart. i got things on christmas clearance for 75-95% off- votive candles in glass holders for $.40 each!

i can set you up with a great lady who is making my invites. she does package deals (any size you will need) and a la carte - you will save tons with her. i'm getting 75 invites, evelopes, thank you scrolls, rsvp postcards, folded thank you cards and evelopes and address labels for under $90

rings- shop jc pennys when they have sales, look for coupons...
or ebay and craigslist. really don't be afraid of ebay. shop sellers with 99 or 100% feedback only. i'm getting my ring for under $25 (stainless band that matchs my engagement ring) and his for under $50 (tungsten).

transportation- use a relatives nice auto or use your own. you DON'T nee a limo, you can even rent a big suv for the day for near nothing from most rental co's (budget hertz alamo) or call around to classic car clubs and see if you can rent a classic car for an hr or two... might be really cheap to do that

dress- shop consignment shops. my dress cost $150 and is awesome. look on craigslist and ebay too.

bm dresses- these have dresses under $100
http://www.bridalsassique.com/index.asp?...
http://www.bridesonlinestore.com/
you can also try looking at prom dresses and homecoming dresses in macys and jcpenneys. most of them look like bm dresses anymore, it will increase your selection by looking for those 3 types instead of just bm dresses

guys clothing- they don't need to tux it up. they can wear white shirts and tan slacks. or white shirts and dark slacks and a tie... make sure they are all bought at the same time so they match.

flowers- you can shop local flower stores or grocery store floral dpts (make your own if you like) bring pics of what you want to guide your florist. shop rite has a full service flower dpt and they offer wedding planning help too. or you can go the silk route. afloral.com has great flowers. that's who i went to for mine

centerpieces- i like the tall vases with topiary style arrangements on them. i love gerberas so i think using them is a great way to punch up color and keep your budget down
you can also get different vases (walmart super cheap) and have different looks on each table.

ceremony location- i'm all for outdoor weddings. i think being surrounded by nature is just beautiful and makes for awesome pictures. plus most are free or really cheap.
i'm getting married in a park and it only cost $5 for the application fee. no charge to bring in chairs tents etc...

reception locations- you can have it at a vfw, moose/elk lodge or fire house banquet hall. they are nicer now that ever... they realize how much revenue they generate so many/most have been updated in the last few years.
we are using the banquet hall of the fire house where we are memebers. it only cost us $275 to rent. $500 for non members. (they do open bar. cash bar. cater. or let you diy the food)

cake- look at bjs and costco, even walmart does wedding cakes now. don't forget grocery stores. most do wedding cakes and are rather tasty cakes. you might not get all the flavor choices of a bakery but most ppl go with white or chocolate anyway.
we are getting our cake from shop rite ($1.75 a serving compared to $3.50 someone else quoted me) i love s/r cakes and have had many a b-day cake from them when i was younger.

favors- you really don't need them if you are trying to save money. but... you can do organza bags filled with candies. shop ebay for the best prices, seller ideabus, has the best prices and selection
or try dipping the ends of pretzle rods in white, dark or milk chocolate. then roll the ends (or sprinkle) with jimmies, colored sugar crystals, crushed nuts, mini marshmallows... or what ever else floats your fancy. put them in celophane bags and tie off with a ribbon to match your colors. super easy and people love things they can snack on on the way home from the reception.
stick to edible, anything else are 99% dust collectors or trash can fillers

photographer- look on craigslist for your area, under services, type in photography and see the results. i found a great gal for mine $300 for 6 hrs. some places charge wayyyy more but you should be able to find a good one for under 1k
i also found someone who wants to build her portfolio so she's shooting the whole day for free. if we like any prints we can order a la carte for super cheap.

you might be able to find a dj service on craigslist too. or just call around for a good rate from someone with referrals

our wedding for about 100 ppl will run us about 2-2500k.

most important thing about a wedding, budget- STICK TO IT

oh join your local yahoo group freecycle and post what you are looking for. i got lots of wedding things for free. (esp after june!)

post on craigslist for your area too, and search for wedding things too. many ppl have left overs they want to unload after their weddings and sell at below lowest cost!

oh ck out this site too

BEST OF LUCK

What color eyeshadow?

carly

I'm going to be in a wedding this weekend and I'm doing my own makeup. I have brown eyes, brown hair and olive colored skin. also my dress is coral with a little white lace. I can do pretty much anything I just need what colors. also please say light or dark when you say a color. thanks in advance

Answer
I think violets, chocolate browns and earthy colours would be best! They would really bring out your eye colour! I think maybe you should use the black (like everyone else suggested) as an eyeshadow liner? And have the browns fading into a violet/plum? Depending on the occasion, if it was a full out big party i would go quite dark and intense but if it was for something like a wedding or garden party I would go quite subtle and light!
Hope this Helped!

olive skin, dark hair, blue eyes, purple & black strapless dress?

sonnyg

can someone please help me with the make up side i have a wedding and are unsure of the eyeshadow colour. my dress is dark plum with black lace over the bodess. i have just gone from a blonde all my life to dark brown. i love my hair but never usually would wear this colour dress but it suits my darker hair now. please help?

Answer
I would go with a charcoal smoky eye. Don't over do it too much. It will fit with your dress and new dark hair and make you look nice and sultry.
