plus size wedding dress designers image
blah blah
I'm attending a friend's wedding in December. I want to wear something semi-formal. I can't find any good (quality) places online. Any suggestions? I have about $150 to spend. Thanks.

You want to look into Alfred Angelo. Look at who carries his dresses in your area, and don't be put off by the price tag online, it isn't accurate. Alfred Angelo is very figure flattering and caters towards bigger girls. Also, his dresses he doesn't charge for plus size like most designers do. I weighed in at 300 lbs, and got a size 20 AA dress for 128 dollars, online price says 175. Also after I purchased it, found it at another site for 112. My alterations were 25 dollars. This was recent.
Also, David's bridal, I could not even fit into a 24.

What is the price difference between regular and plus size in bridal wear?

How much do manufacturer's charge for a special order plus size? Thanks.
Answer
It really depends on which designer you are looking at. My maid of honor was plus-sized. When we went to look at bridesmaid dresses we found that some designers charged up to $80.00 more for the plus size bridesmaid dress. I thought it was silly because they aren't adding that much extra material - but, unfortunately they will hike up the prices because it has to do with a "wedding."
Usually they can charge anywhere from $100-$200 more.
If you look at David's Bridal it might give you some idea of what they charge. For example, this gown is $799.00 for size 0 to 16; 14W to 26W is $849.00
