This is to my cousin's wedding and I was wondering if there are rules to the pre-wedding dinner. I have a cream color dress with black shoulder straps, black waist strap and black flowers detailing the bottom. I have no idea. This is my first dinner rehearsal.

sounds perfect and who cares if you're overdressed. you'll look great and its been than being too informal.

Is it disrespectful to wear a color to a funeral?

My grandmas funeral is on Friday and I would like to wear a colorful blouse or spring colored dress. I just really don't like black it's so depressing. I would still look nice and classy just colorful.

Answer
There is no rule about wearing black!!!

If it's a very religious funeral, wear a bit of black and maybe a pastel color- muted and respectful.

If you expect it to be nice but not "stuffy", wear a color! Funerals are to remember and honor the deceased, to respect a life well lived! There is nothing wrong with wearing a beautiful dress or color Grandma loved. :)

My aunts memorial was last month, and a lot of my family wore turquoise, which is the color for ovarian cancer (which she passed from). <3 sorry for your loss!
