Elegant dress to wear to a wedding?

I'm looking for a dress that is plus size-like 18. and has a similar style to the pics below. I've looked at places like torrid and wet seal but they are either too prom dress-like or casual. I would really love if the dress was a gold or neutral colour-but it doesnt HAVE to be. (I also don't care about price!)

I found some dresses I think fit what you're looking for at DressProm.net. I know their name has Prom right in it, but they sell a ton of dresses, and a lot of them are more cocktail dress than prom dress :) I've included links below to ones I came across that looked the most in line with your style and are available in an 18. Hope you find something you love!

I have been invitied to two weddings this year and as a young plus-sized woman, I often have a difficult time finding pretty, well-made, quality clothing that fits well and doesn't look cheap or matronly or both. I have been seaching the internet and local stores for over a month to find something nice to wear. I finally found a great silk/satin dress at a local department store that fits perfectly. The only problem is that it is bright red and I am worried that the color might be a fashion "don't." One of the weddings is at a resort on the beach in Cleawater and the other is at a country club in North Carolina...

Why not. The important thing is that you feel good in it. If you feel it's too much red wear a crocheted or silk shawl, maybe off white during day or black for night time.

Have you tried it on for a friend?
I'd go with this dress...although I'm not a red person myself, if it fits perfectly go for it.

If you're that concerned , keep this dress & keep looking.
I'm sure you've looked online at Roamans; Igigi; Jessica London;Chadwick's; Catherines, The Woman Within, etc?

I thought only white/ivory was a no-no for weddings.
