I'm currently married now. Me and husband got married at the county court right before his grandmother passed 4 years ago. I would love to have a nice wedding but the only problem i have with myself is that i'm plus size. I'm not big to the point where i can't walk and can't fit in a car or chair. People say that i'm not big but i think i am. I have four boys so a lot of the weight gain happened while being pregnant. I would like some possible feed backs. My husband say's he loves me for me and say's he is happy. I've always had low self-esteem since i could remember. So i would like some advice on what to do. One more thing my father passed away last year and i wondering if i do decide to have a wedding, who would be the person to give me away to my husband. I would appreciate any advice.

Being plus size is not a problem at all. Your only problem is you're already married. Married people don't have weddings. Everyone makes choices and we have to accept them. You and your husband got married in a courthouse and that was your choice. It made perfect sense to do that because of his grandfather.

Be happy you have a husband that loves you no matter what. Be happy that you have four healthy boys. Any money you spend on a fake wedding would be better used for a college fund for your children.

If money isn't a issue and you can really afford it, throw a huge party for your 5th anniversary. No ceremony, no bridesmaids, no gift registry or the other trapping of a wedding. Wear an elegant gown in your favorite color, no white wedding gown. Rent a beautiful venue and properly wine and dine your guests. You just might get some really nice anniversary gifts.

Why isn't it more "expected" for women to RENT their wedding gown?

I'm a little confused about this... ever since I've known about American weddings I've been told that the groom always rents a tuxedo to wear, yet the bride BUYS her wedding gown. I've seen that bridal gowns can cost thousands of dollars, so why is it not so.. "normal" for a bride to rent her gown? They even have reality shows about the dress choosing process, lol I mean she's only going to wear it ONCE for a few hours... why buy it?
I wasn't "bothered" by the fact that brides buy their dresses, I was actually just curious; so thanks for the answers you guys! With the type of wedding I'm having though, the 'American style' dresses are a bit unnecessary for me, lol... But thank you all for answering, except for the smartmouth ho "â TTC#1â " she can suck it, lol.
Well "â TTC#1â " a hoe is a garden tool, so I wanted to make sure no one confused my intended meaning. No worries, you're still a ho, lol. As long as you've learned that your inferior mouth can't compete with me, it's all good lol. Now shut up =]

Thanks for the answers everyone else, lol!

It's more difficult to rent a dress, because they often have to be altered. Men usually only need to have their pants or the length of the sleeves altered. Dresses need to fit properly in the bust area, through the torso, hips and thighs. They also need to be altered for length.

Most brides end up buying the next size up for wedding dresses. For example, I'm about an 8, although, in some places size 8 dresses are too snug. You can't really take out a dress. But, you can order the next size up (for example, size 10) and have the specific areas where it's too big taken in to fit your exact body.

If women had to rent dresses, then rental companies would be tearing apart dresses and letting them out and taking them in multiple times. The life of the dress would be short lived. Plus, you can't really keep playing with the dress. Eventually, a dress that's been altered too many times will have puckers in the fabric and bad stitching.

What kind of a company would invest in buying expensive dresses and only get a few wearings out of them? What kind of bride wants a dress that's been altered and re-altered for 5 other brides before her?
