Okay, well I'm trying to have our wedding this year on 10/10/2010 and i was just wondering if anybody had any ideas. I kind of want it to be a small, intimate, romantic wedding the colors are a dark purple, with hints of gold and ivory but the thing is I live in a pretty small town so I have to drive like an hr away to San Antonio to get things. I want to keep it as cheap as I can, we're still pretty young and have a baby who is almost 9 months...and I don't feel like spending all these thousands of dollars lol...anyways if anyone has any good ideas or pictures with those colors or any opinion i'd appreciate it =] ohh and umm theres like 100 guests right now but i kinda doubt that all of them will come...
ohh yeah and because i live in a small town there is kind of a limit to where we can hold the reception and one that i've seen has picnic tables...any ideas on how to decorate them? or has anyone ever had picnic tables? and also they have an inside to it where there are the metal folding chairs any ideas on how to make it look nicer without the chair covers or do u think that just leaving them alone would be better?

Answer
Why don't you and and fiancee get married in a tiny wedding at home or nearby.
Have a few family members over for the wedding and cake and champagne.Have no more than a dozen people.
No reason for an expensive dress or huge flowers or colors. No wedding party.Just a fun group of people.
Then you and hubby go off for a long weekend without baby.Is there some one to care for your child for a few days ?
I have heard great things about San Antonia.Get a great hotel. See the attractions and relax. Have a nice time.

How do I plan a small, cheap wedding?

I want an outdoor wedding, we're looking Septemberish, I want to spend as little as possible, and hope to keep it small. I live in San Antonio Texas. What are some things you think I should know? Any good, cheap places here in SAT? How about just general wedding planning? Here's what I thought of so far: My dress (what girl hasn't), my bridesmaids dresses (only 2 bridesmaids), who I'll invite, having the wedding outside of SAT (maybe in Fredericksburg) that way people can't say we didn't invite them, but that'll severly limit the # of people who actually do go, invitations, engagement pictures, wedding cake, location for wedding and reception, flowers (don't really want any), honeymoon locations (the closer the better). Basically we aren't big on lots of attention, and though money won't really be a problem with us, we want to start on the right foot by not being overly-extravagant. Now, I've thought about all these things, but have taken no steps towards anything (we haven't set a date yet), but absolutely hate not being prepared, and want to be ready for whatever curve-balls come my direction. Thank you.

If you're open to buying a used dress, look online. I checked our local Craigslist and got an excellent condition designer Maggie Sottero gown for only $350! Going green and saving money!

If you're wedding is fairly relaxed, you could have your bridesmaids buy their own dresses. Just tell them the color it needs to be, and they can pick their own style/dress. That way, they feel more as though it's for them, it's their style, and they can wear it more than once. That's what I'm doing for my wedding in July, and my bridesmaids definetly appreciate it.

Consider baking the cake yourself, or, doing wedding cupcakes. If you DO hire someone to do it, DON'T tell them it's for a wedding. I've found people automatically charge more for things when they know it's for a wedding. Just say you need a large cake for a special party.

Have the groom buy is suit/tux instead of renting. If you don't need something extravagent, International Clothiers is a great store for a great suit, for CHEAP.

Check out your local plant nurseries to see if they can give you a good deal on flowers. If they're not that important to you then you won't need very many.

Get your invitations from a local craft store. I got mine from Michaels. $25.00 for 100 invites and envelopes. We printed them ourselves at home. Totally personalized, and exactely what we wanted.

I'm not from your area, so don't really know what's around there for locations. If you're looking for an outdoor wedding, try some nice parks or gardens. If you're wanting an indoor party, check out local clubhouses (they have tons of space, and are generally cheaper than halls or other locations).

Cheers!
