Nina
Now my brother is 16 and is going for his farewell this March.
For the formal dress code he got a waistcoat suit made but he won't be wearing the coat. That leaves us with the waistcoat, the pant and the shirt.
Now its completely black and he is no mood for a white shirt so he wants color ideas for his shirt.
Plus, good shoe options please. Thank you :)
Answer
Shoes: Black! Maybe brown, but generally black is the way to go.
For shirts, you could do any color under the rainbow! Black is neutral, so it'll pair with anything and everything. It all depends on what he likes and his skin tone, etc.
I personally like bright blues and greens with a subdued tie. Or a nice dark grey dress shirt with a colored (blue, purple, pink) tie.

What tie/shirt colours will work with a black suit and my dress?
Blazoo.
Formal is coming up end of next week, and my boyfriend still has not gotten his suit organised, I'm wearing this dress, the one on the left:

I wore his dress to my formal last year, and my partner wore black suit, white shirt, and champagne tie and it looked very classy, but my boyfriend thinks that is boring, and wants a bit of colour. It's really disappointed me because my dress, is actually a rum colour, it's not pink as the photo decieves it as, and it's very hard to find colours that compliment the dress. He is suggesting anything but what would look very classy, and I'm worried it's going to degrade how I look on the night :(
I asked his mum and sister for their thoughts, his sister thinks he could wear light blue or emerald green and it would look great with me, I disagree COMPLETELY, and his mum said he could wear black suit, black shirt, and ocean blue tie, and then get me a blue/champagne colour corsage and that would look amazing apparently, but blue? I just can't get over any bright colours, they in my opinion would just ruin us complimenting each others attire. :(
Ideas please?
My dress is not pink in any way shape or form - so no pink, i've tested pink against it before for my formal last year and it was horrible.
