What should I wear over my dress to a semi formal banquet?

Recently I got a dress from Forever 21 and I am going to wear it to a semiformal banquet at school and it is little chilly in the morning and afternoon.

The dress is a black high low dress. It is a strapped dress. The top is a leather material and the bottom part is sheer, chiffon kind of material. What kind of jacket would match this dress? What colour would match best with it?

The party's theme is white and purple so I need another dress color that can go with the theme.
So far I'm considering silver or pale yellow, nothing too striking please.
But not the color white,purple,black, or turquoise.

Try something colorful

Black will make you look too pale and
a nude color might highlight your face more-
but still pale

Try silver, red, NAVY blue, or gray.

DONT go for yellow because it sticks out too much.
