I need whatever advice on what I can do on a very small budget. My fiance and I are getting married once before he goes into the Army and then again later when money is better in a big family church wedding. The first one will be outdoors in my familys yard. There will be about 40 or so guests. I just want it to be special for him and need any advice I can get.
Answer
KEEP IT SIMPLE!!
My husband and I just planned a wedding in less than 2 weeks and it can be done.
Get what you absolutely need...
We did invitations by going to www.evites.com and we picked up a pack of invitations from Hobby Lobby for those who didn't have access to a computer and delivered them personally.
We ordered a cake from Wal-Mart. 2 tier was only $56
I ordered a nose gay from the florist which is a smaller version of a bridal bouquet and I also ordered him a boutineer. (Not sure about the spelling on that)
I didn't wear a traditional wedding gown. (thank goodness!) I wore a beautiful evening gown that I can wear again in the future and he wore a suit.
Got the rings we wanted which we saw online and was blessed enough to find them in a local mall.
I had no bridesmaids and all that girly mess. I wouldn't have had that even if I had a year to plan. (LOL)
His dad stood in for him and my son walked me down the aisle and stood in for me.
Someone recommended a minister who turned out to be wonderful and we had it outside at a spot here in Nashville that overlooks the city.
We were married on 7-7-07 at 7 p.m. and we're still loving it!
Good luck and God bless!
