My fiancé and I are getting married in 2013. We have both been married before & have 3 teenage daughters. I would love to have a traditional long wedding gown with veil etc - would this be acceptable?

I am getting married 1-19-2013, and I was wondering what was the best time I should go looking for a gown? I heard it can take up to a few months to get it in after alterations, so any ideas?

OMG I have the same wedding day as you! Go us! lol!
I went browsing at some shops last weekend with my mum. I went to go "look" at dresses and help me figure out what I like. But guess what? I ended up putting a deposit down on the 2nd dress I tried on! Thanks to my mum - she's the one who convinced me. My dress won't be ready until June/July.
I was afraid that I've rushed things but the dress is perfect and I got it at an amazing discount. My mum is a professional seamstress (but I don't want her to make my dress 'cuz we'd just argue), so if it needs to be altered after I get my dress I know I'll be ok.
But if I didn't buy a dress then I'd say you can start looking now to see what you like. But don't buy anything until much later in the year. Keep in mind it can take a few months to get the dress just perfect.
