It's been years since i was in a wedding and the dresses they are getting are from davids bridal..Do thier dress sizes run small?? I found the same dress on ebay for a lot less and i am trying to see what size i would need. Would it have to be a size or two larger than my reg. dress size?? I really dont have time to run to davids bridal to try on to see what size i need being the bidding is ending soon...Thanks

I JUST got a few dresses from David's bridal. Here's the thing. I wear a size 10 in pants a size 8 in dresses.
I just bought a size 10 wedding gown and it fits like a glove. In the bridesmaid dresses, I fit into a size 8. (I am a little more "bottom heavy") That is in the a-line style dresses.
If you are going for a slimmer style, go up another size in the wedding gown. If in doubt, go up a size because it can be altered..... BUT to save alteration costs, I'd say the bridesmaid dresses are pretty true to size, but the bridal gowns run a tad smaller.
Also, if your top and bottom are different sizes, go by the largest part of your body and have it altered.

I'm looking for websites for wedding gowns that are under $500, preferably not David's Bridal. I am looking for gowns that are unique and may be lacy with a touch of color.

Try Jessica McClintock. I'm going to be in a wedding at the end of the month and I almost got my bridesmaid dress from there but the bride liked one from David's Bridal. If you're in CA there are also two Jessica McClintock outlets and you should definitely be able to get a good deal there.
