I am going to this military ball on the 18th and I have to find a dress, like... ASAP. So I have almond colored skin (if i had to compare, halle berry's color [not complexion] is closest to mine) and I was wondering what color dress I should look for. Just so I don't waste any time trying on colors that are hopeless on me. Any also, I have dark thick hair that is a little past my shoulders and I have long layers. How should I do it, since I doubt I'd be able to get it professionally done?

My mom has attended several military balls the past few years and your description of yourself closely matches my moms. She also has almond colored skin and dark hair.
First for dress colors she usually goes with dark colors like purples,reds, cream colored, blue(preferably navy blue) or even black and white.
Also you probably want to go with a floor length dress or a dress that comes just below your ankles.
Not to frilly!
For hair she usually gets it done at a salon. But in your case you could have a friend do it or do it yourself just make sure you give yourself enough time to get ready.
French buns,chignon's, or do you could do loose curls and do a half ponytail and add a hair comb something shiny.

What will they appreciate more at a store like Express Women's Clothing? I have two very sophisticated yet trendy dresses both red, I have a pair of teal skinny ankle dress pants, the same cut pants but navy blue with black accents. The bottom line is- Black? And white? Colors? Express yourself and show your personality as well dress to impress? Thanks.

I wouldn't wear a dress. They're not looking to hire a model, they're looking for someone who's going to be doing some physical labor, so I would go with the navy blue and a nicer blouse, probably a neutral color probably black personally, and add some fun accessories but don't over do it.
