how corset strapless wedding gown?

Tata Boshi

www.i2ko.com/weddings/images/dress1.jpg is the link. hopefully you can gt to it. I love this dress and i want it to be a corset because i am bigger busted but im thin. i love the ruffles. anyone have any helpful tips or patterns i could use? i have some time b4 the wedding.

Answer
you can get almost any wedding gown salon to add a corset top for you these days. they do it at david's bridal for an extra charge and i know that many of the orginal gown designers will also do it for an additional charge when you order the gown. most are between 150 and 250 dollars to add in.

if that won't work for you, find a seamstress who knows how to work with wedding gowns and have them do it. the main problem is the exra fabric needed for the modesty panel behind the laces. you can use fabric from the length of the gown if you are shorter and having it shortened or you can try to match some fabric from the fabric store, or ask the designer or salon where you are buying it if they can get you a yard or so of extra fabric. or you could just put in a matching lace insert or use a nice satin that matched the ribbon belt.

you can get patterns or "how to's " by googling "corset insert pattern"

themed wedding question?

mrsc

i want a 50's themed wedding and would like tips... food, clothing, any suggestions would be really cool.
also to include lemons? i want my color to be yellow! our wedding ceremony is going to be at a park and the reception in a backyard - we are renting tables and chairs. thats all i know =)
oh yeah and what about a classic song from the 50's to dance to

Answer
do a google image search on 1950's style wedding gowns - you'll get a ton of photos showing you all sorts of gorgeous styles for your gown.
you could wear a tea-length gown which is very '50's and would work well in the setting you will be having. yellow was a very popular color back then and will fit right in with your dream wedding - your girls could wear beautiful yellow tea-length dresses. attendants used to wear short veils back then - you could do that if you wanted true vinate or pay homage to the veil by having some pretty ribbons in the girl's hair!
do a google image search on wedding cakes and bouquets as well - you'll get a ton of photos and ideas. you could do very simple bouquets of wildflowers -that would be very pretty.
if you are having your wedding in the backyard then the use of a b.b.q. would fit in nicely as would a variety of salads, along with a variety of desserts as well as your wedding cake.
centrepieces could be vases filled with fresh lemons - that would give you a great burst of the color you want.
as for a song - unchained melody by the righteous brothers is a beautiful song for your first dance.
keep everything simple without too many frills and remember back in the '50's no one did favors for their guests - they got a piece of wedding cake to tuck under their pillows and have sweet dreams!
whatever you choose your day will be lovely and i wish you many years of happiness! good luck and happy wedding!
