Q. I am planning a wedding and need to find a photographer to take the pictures I am on a tight budget. I would like to find someone to take the photos with a good digital camera and load them to a cd and the bride and groom will print them out ! If any one could help please let me know ! Yes they all travel. Most are willing to go within 2 hours which would mean you'd have access to all the Charlotte photographers as well as Winston Salem more than likely.

Just go to a bridal show and consult with some of the vendors. Get recommedations. My photographer had switched to children's photography but was still willing to do my wedding. Get your picture taken at Sears, Walmart, Galmour shots one of those photo places. If you like the work--many of those photographers take part time gigs like wedding photography for extra cash. Plus they are very negotiable. In photography you pay for the name so if you are on a tight budget someone like that would be able to have a cheaper rate.
Ask around. I went to several boutiques when trying on wedding gowns--they all had business cards out for people they'd worked with in the past. I asked my parent's coworkers (which is the photographer I used). The knot isn't going to have any listings for you--those people are usually in the 4-5 grand range. And if you used the word "tight" to describe your budget, I doubt you have 4,000 laying around.
Negotiate for the negatives. Thats what I did. I paid about $2,500 and she gave me my album, mothers album, all the proofs and a cd with the negatives. Also consider table cameras. I used those and was shocked at how well they came out. I ordered them off the knot on sale for about $4 each and had people take pictures of people at their table. Then when you develop them yourself, you don't have to pay for the blank shots/shots that don't come out.
