Do you know anyone who has actually worn a dress designated for a "bridesmaid" as her gown? I am getting married next summer and I think I want a light pink, tea length dress and nothing too fancy. I'm thinking about looking at bridesmaid dresses for myself as well since they seem to be cheaper and the styles are less traditional than wedding gowns. Have you or someone you've known went this route as well?

I've seen people wear bridesmaid dresses as wedding gowns. If you are looking for a simple gown then this is a good way to go - I don't see anything wrong with it at all. Just as long as you feel beautiful and comfortable.

While she loves a lot of detail, try to have her make sure that there isn't too much detailing on the bodice. Instead, look for a dress that has detailing that is situated virtically on the dress so as to elongate her body and make her look taller. If she prefers detailing in the form of fabric instead of beading, make sure that she chooses light fabrics such as chiffon.
