plus size wedding gowns tips image

Every sight I have looked under offers plus sized wedding dresses but only shows skinny models. Claims to "love the full figured bride" and shows skinny models. David's bridal offers limited photos. I want to know what kind of dress would look good on me but nobody posts dresses with large brides. I want to see a fat lady in a wedding dress so I don't look like an albino Mr. Kool-aid!!!! Where do I go to find what I am looking for?? Anybody???

Some answerers gave you really good links. Really, you won't know til you get into the shops -- I was a plus bride (24) and was petrified before I went in - and there are way more choices now, and especially in the US rather than Canada where I am - but I was lucky to find just what I dreamed of in a small boutique.
One big tip - try find a gown with a basque waist - the fabric just glides over the tummy and hips - no bulges! It's amazing!
Here's an example, though my skirt wasn't as full -

Some ideas - depending upon what 'plus' size you are....

This site has pretty realistic bride shapes - sure shows me who shouldn't wear strapless, pickups, etc. -

Top 5 Tips on Finding the Perfect Plus Size Wedding Dress for You
Finding clothes can be a frustrating experience for any full-figured woman, so it's understanding that the idea of shopping for a plus-size wedding dress is a daunting one. But here are five easy tips to make sure you find the perfect plus-size wedding dress for you.
1. Know your shape. You'll want to find a dress that is best for your figure. An a-line shape is flattering to most curvier figures, as it can skim over hips. Avoid full ballgown skirts as they can add to an overall roundness. A v-neckline on a busty woman can add a beautiful contrasting line. I would also avoid tea-length gowns, as they tend to make women look squatter.
2. Know where to shop You might start out at one of the larger retail chains, like David's Bridal, as they are more likely to have dresses you can try on, rather than trying to imagine how the size eight sample will look on your body. You can also look at department stores, and at designers who specialize in plus-size wedding dresses such as Emme Bridal, Alfred Angelo, Bonny, Mon Cheri, or Allure Bridals. Look at websites such as plussizebridal.com for more ideas.
3. Be comfortable The most beautiful dress won't look so beautiful if you are stressed, or tugging on it. Make sure you can move, talk, and dance in your dress with ease. Consider getting the next size up just to make sure the dress fits you well.
4. Get it tailored No matter what size you are, look your best on your wedding day by getting your wedding dress altered to fit you personally. Subtle differences in how a garment fits you can make worlds of difference in other's perception of you, and in your own confidence.
5. Don't be afraid to break the rules In the end, it's your wedding dress. You need to love it, regardless of what the roles are. Furthermore, much advice on plus-size wedding dresses focuses on disguising your figure, but a curvaceous body is something to celebrate, not hide. When a wedding dress sings you to you, then that's the one to buy, regardless of the rules.
