Ivory colored wedding dress?

Amanda C

So, I started looking at wedding dresses a few weeks ago. I narrowed it down to 3 dresses (I love all 3). They all come in white or ivory. The 3 sample dresses at the store that I tried on are all ivory. I love the color but my mom thinks that ivory is more of a 2nd marriage dress. What do you think?

I'm very tan - would pure white look better on me? Or ivory? The ivory looks white, it's just a little off-white. Know what I mean?

Answer
please, your mom is thinking like it's the 1950's still. welcome to the 21st century, where virgin brides are way outnumbered by the more sensible group of us who have tried the sausage before buying the pig. catch my drift? the color of the dress is meaningless because non virgins wear white all the time! pick the shade that looks best on you, period.

My wedding dress is ivory, what color does the groom wear?

A

What have u all seen done? Does it look fine with the bride wearing ivory and the groom/groomsmen wearing white? Does it matter then what color the flower girl wears?
The guys will all have black suits. My question is....who should wear white and who should wear ivory? If just me and the flower girl wear ivory, would that look ok with everyone else wearing whte?
THe bridesmaids are wearing blue and the guys are wearing blue vests.

Answer
Been doing this for 12 years- For what's it's worth : )
Groom can wear an Ivory vest and tie/ bow tie.with a white shirt and white pocket square.
Everyone wears a white shirt, - ivory rental shirts vary in color thu laundering.
White shirts , white pocket squares, blue vest and ties for the guys, would be my choice
Dads- black vest and tie. If there is a ring bearer - he would match the groom, the Flower girl would then be in ivory, protocol, next generation - or a blue dress if it's a modern wedding,
When flash bulbs were used someone said that a groom in white would make the brides ivory dress look dirty, this is not true. Hope this helped.
